PSV Field Service Technician – Bus & Coach
Location: Scotland – Field Based
Starting salary: £55,000, depending on experience, plus overtime and call-out payments

Are you an experienced PSV, Bus, Coach or HGV Technician looking for a field service role with excellent earning potential and opportunities to develop your technical skills?
ACS Automotive Recruitment Consultancy is recruiting a PSV Field Service Technician on behalf of an established business within the bus and coach sector. Covering Scotland, you will carry out diagnostics, maintenance and repairs across a growing fleet of vehicles.
This opportunity would suit a capable technician who enjoys solving technical problems, working independently and providing a high standard of service.
Your responsibilities

Carry out inspections and diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults on buses and coaches.

Complete servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs to maintain vehicle reliability and roadworthiness.

Undertake pre-delivery inspections and identify any work required before vehicles enter service.

Diagnose and repair axle and driveline faults.

Perform electrical fault finding, including diagnostics on CAN networks.

Investigate and resolve faults on HGV and PSV air systems.

Use specialist diagnostic equipment to identify faults and support effective repairs.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance and work completed.

Communicate clearly with customers and the wider technical team.

Work safely and comply with relevant health and safety procedures.
What we’re looking for
-
Previous experience as a PSV Technician, Bus Technician, Coach Technician or HGV Technician, with strong diagnostic and repair skills.

A relevant qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair, such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.

Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle systems.

The ability to work independently, organise your workload and manage your time effectively.

Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.

A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Scotland.

A Category D / PSV driving licence would be advantageous.
