Motorcycle Damage Assessor/Estimator - Surrey

£28-35k depending on experience - Bodyshop

Our client, a motorcycle specialist who provide an unparalleled range of insurance and assistance services to insurers and brokers are looking for Damage Assessor/Estimator to join their growing company. Based in the TW20 postcode area of Surrey they are offering £28-35k salaries depending on experience.

Your primary role is to produce accurate motorcycle damage estimates that serve and satisfy both our customers and work providers, by means that are profitable for the company.

In the course of an estimate you will be required to:

  • Establish and agree with a customer the circumstances for and damage related to their claim.
  • Identify the parts requiring repair or replacement and their cost and availability.
  • Through concise appraisal make early identification of ‘total losses’, where costs would exceed the given repair threshold.
  • Identify where it is appropriate to have safety critical components such as frames, forks, wheels, etc. measured or tested.
  • Carry out a visual appraisal of the vehicle’s pre-accident service condition and inform the customer.
  • Liaise with the specialist repair and paint team regarding the viability and cost to repair rather than replace components

  • You are efficient in your work, assessing how best to approach each estimate you undertake.
  • Experience of quality processes and systems is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Ability to work methodically and logically.
  • Have a flexible attitude towards working hours and be willing to work overtime.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge and Experience:
The following knowledge and experience is preferred in order to successfully complete this role:

  • Prior automotive industry experience.
  • A working knowledge of the function and workings of a motorcycle.
  • Experience working on vehicles.

You will do a 42.5 hour week Monday to Friday.
