Our client, one of the largest Accident Repair Centre Groups in the UK are looking for an Internal Engineer focussing on Future Technologies. They are paying around a £35,000 - £40,000 initial salary plus many other benefits including a 9% pension contribution. You will need to be based and commutable to the Birmingham and Warwick areas.

This role shapes thinking about how to evolve the repair strategy, anticipating future trends and challenging current paradigms in the business. Using critical thinking to share new insight across the business and stretch people’s imagination about what is possible, the role enables the future technology needs to be planned and prepared for, keeping our business fit for the future and retaining competitive edge. The role will work with the new Tech centre to build understanding of new technology and support work there in sustainability, outreach, and education.

The key part of the role will be thought leadership, research, technical expertise to form judgements and inform decision making about the future of car repair and the repair industry. You’ll work predominantly with colleagues from across the company as well as externally where required on a variety of initiatives and projects to prepare the company for the automotive transformation that is happening and enable the business to continue to repair cars of the future. Having hands on experience of engineering, car technologies within this industry will be critical as a subject matter expert.

What you’ll need:

  • Engineering degree and a breadth of engineering experience within the automotive industry
  • An ability to learn and challenge established ways of thinking
  • Strong background in presenting technical knowledge
  • Ability to establish, build and maintain positive relationships with key partners
  • Ability to learn and challenge established ways of thinking
  • Creative problem solving
  • Strategic experience preferred, aptitude a must
  • Strong at teamwork and collaboration
  • Self-motivated and results orientated
