Mobile Smart Repair Technician - Berkshire

Our client, an Accident Repair Centre in the Slough area is looking to employ a Mobile SMART Technician to travel between their Bodyshops. You will be responsible for carrying out any general cosmetic repairs to customer vehicles and your work will be of the highest standard and workmanship, using the tools provided. The basic salary on off is £25k and the OTE is £32k - £34k.  You will be provided with a Company Van to travel between the sites as well as all the relevant tools for the job. The van will need to be returned to the Bodyshop in Slough at the end of the day and therefore it is advisable that you live within this area.

Role responsibilities – including but not limited to

• To examine vehicles to identify additional work for repair, liaising with the Service Manager to obtain permission to proceed
• To carry out wheel refurbishments
• To carry out cosmetic paint repairs
• To carry out seat fabric repairs
• To carry out minor dent removals
• To clearly document all work performed ensuring that times are recorded accurately and within agreed time frames
• To take care of vehicles whilst being worked on
• To adhere to health and safety requirements and maintain a tidy workstation

Who you need to be

• You must have excellent communication skills to communicate credibly with our customers, colleagues and senior management
• You must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment recognising individual responsibility to contribute to the performance and success of the team. You will have an understanding of the needs of others and a willingness to go the extra mile
• You will have the ability to keep up-to-date with complex information, proven selling skills and good analytical and problem-solving skills
• You will be good with administration, diary management and following up within agreed time frames
• You will be able to develop rapport and trust with customers and to resolve conflict situations calmly and reasonably
• You will have a passion for customer service, have a process orientated approach and be professional and well presented

Your experience

• You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry, working on basic and complex small to medium repairs
• You must be apprentice-trained and qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanical, Maintenance & Repair or NVQ equivalent. You will ideally have at least two years’ experience of working in a franchised dealership since completing your apprenticeship
• You will have good IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel to an intermediate level
• You will have a valid clean UK Driving Licence

Working hours are based on working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours are slightly flexible, but a start time of 8am is required.
