Our client, a car dealership in the Harlow area is currently looking to recruit an experienced Automotive Senior Accounts Assistant to join their Accounts Department. The salary on offer is up to £25k  - £30k depending on your experience, but this could be negotiable for the right candidate.

Job Description of an Automotive Senior Accounts Assistant

Our client is looking for a charismatic, self motivated, accurate and hard working Automotive Senior Accounts Assistant who is business minded.

  • Process accounts paperwork on a daily basis and distributing to Director’s for authorisation.
  • Ensure suppliers invoices are promptly processed in accordance with deadlines and company procedures in respect of authorisation.
  • Reconcile all suppliers’ statements on a monthly basis and request copies of outstanding invoices and make payments in accordance with agreed payment terms.
  • Ensure all receipts are accurately recorded, processed and banked in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor and review credit accounts and liaise with managers in respect of credit limits and ensure company procedures are followed.
  • Produce guest statements each month and ensure these are sent to them within 24 hours.
  • File records daily to ensure ease of access when required.
  • Provide information to the dealer accountant regarding any problems which might adversely affect the production of monthly accounts.
  • Assist in any other areas of the accounts department during periods of staff absence to ensure continuity.
  • Develop finance/company knowledge through attending appropriate training opportunities.

Key Skills:

  • Fully AAT qualified (or other accounting qualification);
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Organised and methodical, able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent telephone manner, able to explain financial matters and discuss issues.
  • Have good numerate and literate skills.
  • Works well on their own initiative or in a team, identifies areas for improvement and development.
  • Excellent computer skills, able to use Excel and Word, Microsoft Office and Dealer Management System – Dragon2000.

Working Hours: 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
